Bloody Mozzies

At the moment we are being overwhelmed by tiny little blood suckers. The buggers are everywhere.

You stand out the front taking with your neighbour and before you realise it, you both start slapping your chest, arms, legs, feet, face and it looks like both of you are performing a German folk dance.

Last night the dogs broke into the laundry door by pushing the lock. I heard them moving about and went to explore and found 4 dogs bolting out of there. The room was literally buzzing. I looked up and the room was full of mozzies. I couldn't open the door again and let them into the house so I found surface spray. A quick spray holding the breath and I was out of there.

Ever constantly heard them buzzing around your head when you are trying to concentrate? It can almost drive you mad as you look around and see nothing. After 5 minutes it sounds like it is about to land in your ear and you are totally annoyed, you swing your hand rapidly upward intent on killing the blood suckers. The only problem is,without thinking you practically bitch slap yourself to the point of your ear is ringing and you see stars. OK, maybe I hit too hard.

I don't spray insect repellant as many people have breathing issues but we certainly need something.

There is nothing like a good slap across the head to get yourself going in the morning........ Yeah, right Lol.

Little annoying pests

Crikey! Get out the skeeter nets and slather yourself skin so soft. I hate those bloody zika-birds! Quick! Kill the blood-sucking fiends before they get to the Vegamite! I hear that meat tenderizer can help with bite. Little dabs of NH3 for sure, if you don’t mind smelling like recycled h20.

It is a skin moisturizer that people found repelled bugs. Not sure but I don’t think it has any harmful ingredients. It smells quite nice to some.

There is something we have similar, just forget to use anything before leaving.

I lived on Chincoteague Island off the Virginia shore for two wonderful years. In order to hang out diapers and other laundry (I had no dryer and this was before the “artificial” diapers that everyone has now), I put on a balaclava, a long sleeved shirt with rubber bands to hold the sleeves tight, gloves, long pants with rubber bands at the ankles over long socks. This was in the summer, you understand. The mosquitos would gather in such a swarm around my eyes that I could barely see to hang the clothes! Once finished, I would run into the glass-in porch and swat mosquitos for several minutes before I could go inside the house.

Yes, it was. People learned very early to never walk across a stretch of grass because the swarm would come up out of that grass and nearly eat you alive!

I’ve been having the same problem, however I’ve been planting natural anti mozzie repellents such as Marigold’s, Rosemary, Basil and other such plants this has reduced the outside number of attacks, but I have more research to mozzie proof my environment.

I got rid of bromeliads that I had on the balcony, the little buggers where breeding in there! Also anywhere water gathers, that helps too!

It’s slang for mosquito, we have a large amount of them very wet summer after an even wetter winter.
